The Belgian Beer Cafe 'Oostende' is an embassy of the Belgian Beer, cafe & eating culture, which opened its doors in 2002. It offers a truly ‘one off’ experience for Adelaide.
'Oostende' is a little fishing town in the West Flanders province of Belgium, so when The Belgian Beer Cafe opened in the East End of Adelaide it was only too fitting to name it after 'Oostende'.
Rich in history, decadent in food and serious about beer; Belgians do it right! The Australian touch is that to us, beer symbolises having enough time away from the stresses of life to celebrate the finest parts.
Oostende's upstairs Function Room, called 'Forbidden' (named after one of Belgium's famous beers - Forbidden Fruit), provides a modern and contemporary influence. Although quite different to the traditional Belgian Bistro style circa 1920s downstairs at Oostende, upstairs remains true to the Belgian Beer culture whilst creating a relaxed modern environment.
The upstairs function room allows you to hold a private event that is distinctively different and ideal.
For groups up to 300 people, you may hire the entire venue for your event. This will encompass the entire ground floor of the Belgian Beer Cafe. For more information in regards to this, please contact us.
